Animotive 0.8.1.10 Release - Vive Tracker Support, VRM, Smoothing, Audio, and more!


With Animotive 0.8.1.10, We have an a abundance of brand new features and bug fixes to enable you to be as creative as you can be without friction. We've also added a brand new Asset template as part of our collaboration with Kay Lousberg, "KayKit Fantasy Adventures" can be used from todays release onward for your animations! New Features

  • SteamVR/Vive Tracker Support

    Users can now connect Left Foot, Right Foot, and Waist trackers for enhanced character animation fidelity. This includes support for OpenVR supported trackers such as SlimeVR also! We're hoping that Full body tracking (FBT) will enable you to create the animations you like with precision.



  • VRM Import and Spring Bone Support

    VRM import and spring bone support have been enabled, allowing for dynamics in hair, cloth, tails, etc. Direct compatibility with VRoid characters.

  • Toon Shader Support

    Integrated Toon Shader support can now be configured within the Materials & Textures module of Asset Library for achieving more stylized content.



  • Quest Pro face tracking via SteamLink

    Implement Quest Pro face tracking via SteamLink support making it possible for users to use Vive Trackers and Quest Pro face tracking together, wirelessly


  • GLTF/GLB Import

    Users can now import characters from ReadyPlayerMe and Avaturn with GLTF/GLB import feature. Aawa

  • Tracker Smoothing/Denoising

    A new feature has been implemented to improve animation quality and VRUI interaction by combatting hand shake. Users can adjust the level of smoothing in the Settings panel.

  • Audio Clip Attachment for Lip Sync

    This feature speaks for itself! Users can attach an audio clip to a character for automatic lip sync animation, enhancing facial animation options.

  • Oculus LipSync Enhancement

    Quality of the Oculus LipSync facial animation implementation has been improved.


  • Random Eye Movement Control

    More parameters and control have been added to the Random Eye Movement functionality for natural eye animation, adjustable on a per-character basis.


  • Facial Animation Preview Player

    A preview player has been added within the Facial Mapping module of Asset Library for fine-tuning facial mapping parameters before entering a Scene.


  • Microphone Selection and Preview

    Users can now select and preview microphones within the Start Session panel, along with general design improvements for multiplayer session workflows.


  • Project Renaming

    Implemented the ability to rename projects, triggering email notifications to other project members.


  • Transform Tab Enhancements

    Users can now tab between input fields within the Transform tab of entity control panels, and click and drag on input fields for easier adjustments in Desktop Mode.


Bug Fixes / Improvements

  • Animation: Significant improvements to the animation retargeting algorithm, especially for characters with short legs.

  • VR Tracking: Improved animation when characters fully extend their arms.

  • Asset Library: Enhanced camera controls for switching between Free Cam and Orbit mode, with camera orientation maintained between modules.

  • Shader Rendering: Fixed issues with Lit shader materials rendering incorrectly based on workflow and texture maps.

  • Laser Grabbing: Implemented automatic cancellation of actions when a character becomes embodied.

  • Connection: Fixed bugs related to server disconnection issues and connection tests.
